It’s Day 2 of my 12 Days of Christmas Cocktails, I thought I’d share one of my favorite after dinner cocktails, a White Russian Martini. This is a simple cocktail your party guests will love and so quick to make any host/hostess will love!
I know many of you have probably had a White Russian before and may be wondering why I’m posting a recipe for something so common and simple. There’s really nothing extra special about this martini, I just wanted to remind you all what a delicious, quick and easy cocktail it is to make, perfect for when you want something for your holiday guests that doesn’t take a lot of time or thought to put together. No flavored simple syrup to make, nothing like that. Just open some booze and shake it up. It’s just a typical White Russian but instead of on ice in a rocks glass, I’ve shaken it in a cocktail shaker and poured it into a martini glass. To me drinks just seem more special and festive in a martini glass! You really don’t have to wait for after dinner to enjoy this martini but since it makes a nice after dinner drink that’s usually when I have one.
To make a White Russian it’s simply 2 parts vodka to one part Kahlua with a bit of cream to your liking. I used half and half this time, about a half shot. Sometimes I’ll use milk if that’s all I have. Don’t want to add cream? No problem, leave it out and you have yourself a Black Russian! For some reason I like Black Russians over ice. I know, I’m a little weird sometimes when it comes to cocktails.
However you decide to make it, I think you’ll enjoy this simple, yet oh so tasty, White Russian Martini!
